The Province of Misiones is one of the 23 provinces in the Argentine Republic.

The province is surrounded by five rivers, of which three are of great importance: paraná, Uruguay and Iguazu, a natural drain of large regions with abundant rains.

Misiones' climate is subtropical moist with no dry season, making it the wettest province in the country. The low-altitude towns of the southern sector and the Paraná and Uruguay valleys have a humid semitropical climate, as the higher altitude the tropical maritime climate is present, a climate rate similar to the humid subtropical climate. The prevailing winds are from the northeast, southeast and east. The biome it presents is missionary jungle and gallery forest.

Streams are born in the missionary mountain ranges and drain their waters forming jumps and waterfalls with ecosystems of great biological diversity, supported by the ambient humidity typical of the drizzle that produces the falls of water.

In certain parts of the territory, the soil is not very deep and you can see rocks emerging; elsewhere, the soil is stony and very steep. Precisely, in the deepest soils are the plantations of yerba mate, tea, afforestations and other crops such as tobacco and cassava. The stony soils are located in the highest parts of the jungle-covered mountain forests.

Missions has one and a half million hectares under Sustainable Management, divided into more than 70 Protected Natural Areas that seek to conserve the fifth most threatened forest worldwide:

The Missionary Jungle.
